Get Involved
Whether you are a club, a player, a volunteer, or a supporter, there is a place for you in the New York Metropolitan Cricket League.
Cricket Needs You
NYMCL is more than a competition — it is a community. The league thrives because of the people who give their time, energy, and passion to the sport. From the clubs that organize teams to the volunteers who keep match days running, every contribution matters.
There are many ways to get involved with the New York Metropolitan Cricket League, regardless of your experience level or background. Explore the pathways below to find the right fit for you.
How to Get Involved
Join as a Member Club
NYMCL welcomes applications from established cricket clubs in the New York metropolitan area. Member clubs gain access to organized league competition across four divisions, a structured promotion and relegation system, league-assigned umpires for top-tier matches, and the support of a nonprofit governing body with over a century of institutional history.
To apply for membership, clubs should have an established roster of registered players, access to a ground that meets league standards, and a commitment to the NYMCL code of conduct and constitution. The league reviews applications on a rolling basis.
Play Competitive Cricket
If you are a cricketer looking for organized, competitive league play in the New York area, NYMCL is the place to be. Players participate through member clubs — each club manages its own roster and selection. The league offers competition at multiple levels, from the Premier Division for the most experienced players to Division Three for developing and recreational competitors.
To join as a player, reach out to a member club directly or contact the league office for guidance on finding a club that matches your skill level and location. All players must complete the league registration process before participating in official matches.
Support the League
NYMCL relies on volunteers to help with match-day operations, scoring, event coordination, communications, and administrative support. Volunteering is a rewarding way to stay connected to the cricket community, whether or not you play the game yourself.
The league is particularly interested in volunteers with experience in umpiring, scoring, event management, photography, videography, and digital communications. However, all offers of support are welcome and valued.
Follow and Support NYMCL
You do not need to play or volunteer to be part of the NYMCL community. Supporters are welcome at all league matches — there is no admission charge for regular season fixtures. Come watch competitive cricket in your neighborhood, cheer on a local club, and experience the atmosphere of match day in the New York metropolitan area.
Stay connected with the league through our website and official channels for news, results, and season updates. Spread the word about NYMCL to friends, family, and colleagues who might be interested in cricket.
Invest in Cricket

The league offers structured sponsorship tiers with meaningful brand visibility, community engagement, and the credibility of associating with one of the oldest cricket institutions in the country.
Getting Started
Players participate in NYMCL through member clubs. To join, you can contact a member club directly or reach out to the league office, and we will help connect you with a club that fits your skill level and location. All players must complete the league registration process before playing in official matches.
Club membership applications are typically reviewed before the start of each season to ensure proper integration into the fixture schedule. However, clubs interested in joining are encouraged to contact the league at any time to begin the application process for the following season.
Not necessarily. While league competition is organized at various skill levels, there are roles beyond playing that welcome people of all backgrounds — including volunteering, scoring, event support, and community outreach. If you are new to cricket and want to play, some member clubs offer development programs for beginners.
NYMCL charges membership fees to clubs, which cover league administration, umpire assignments, and operational costs. Individual player registration fees may also apply. Specific fee structures are communicated to clubs and players during the registration period each season. Volunteering and spectating are free.
NYMCL matches are played at grounds across the New York metropolitan area, including locations in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Long Island, and surrounding counties. Ground assignments are managed by the league and communicated through the official fixture schedule.
